Description
Reserve your PRE-ORDER of the debut album by The Lost Keys. (Release Date: JULY 3, 2026)
The Spencer family moved from Kentucky to Douglas County, Kansas in 1857
and has been making music here for generations. Through the years, the family got
together weekly to play old-time fiddle tunes and sing old country songs. The music
wasn’t categorized, it was just played… happily. Six generations later, that’s what the
Spencer family is still doing today and that’s what you have on this record.
The Lost Keys are a family band, but mostly we’re a family. We make music together
because we love being together and making this album with our kids has been a great
joy. Howard and I are grateful we are able to continue the tradition of making music
with them. This is a snapshot of a moment in time, recorded at home after a big
breakfast with our family gathered around two simple microphones.
Some of this music we’ve been playing most of our lives, some of it we picked up
from friends and mentors, all of it is the music of our home. It’s the music you might
hear coming from our back porch.
Thank you parents and grandparents for carrying on these traditions and sharing them
with us. Thank you Josie, our oldest, who is not featured on this record but is also a
player and works behind the scenes to help keep us organized. Thank you listeners
for supporting us. Thank you lucky stars for bringing Howard and me together. Most
of all, thank you kids for bringing art, music, creativity, and love into a world where
those things are often lost.
